Voxeljet is preparing for the launch of a new 3D printer that utilizes its high-speed sintering method. The German company said in a statement ahead of the release at the Formnext fair in Germany, that the HSS-based system will be able to produce objects with properties similar to these resulting from the use of selective laser sintering and multi jet fusion, and, importantly, injection molding.

The HSS method is based on Voxeljet’s proprietary core technology, binder jetting. Basically, HSS selectively squirts infrared absorbing ink on layers of plastic powder. The layers is then exposed to infrared light to produce ready to use products for various applications, including brackets, housings and other functional parts for the carmaking, industrial equipment, and even consumer product industries.
